During (6) terms as President, I’ve organized my Brothers and Sisters through example and leadership; I’ve implemented a strategy to protect our classifications, enforce the contract, protect benefits and negotiate fair wage increases.
In 2013, I led the BART Chapter CAT Team, members, and Negotiating Team; t0gether we launched (2) successful strikes, and we won the best contract since 2001.
In 2017, I negotiated an historic contract extension, which provided for (8) years of continuous raises (at 32.72% compounded) with no takeaways.
In 2020, during the pandemic, I negotiated another contract extension with no takeaways and we accreted the E-BART system into our core contract; expanding member opportunities, and protecting our future.
In 2022, and 2024, to defend against inflation, I re-opened the contract and negotiated an 10.5% and 8% wage increase in a 3rd, 4th contract extension; for a total increase of 59.27% (compounded) for 2013-2027.
I'm running for re-election so I can continue to enforce our contract, strengthen the Union, and prepare our members to win a fair contract again in 2027.
I will continue to build effective relationships with the BART Board and will hold Management accountable.
