To my Union Brothers and Sisters,
I am honored to announce my candidacy for Chapter Vice President to help preserve our contract and ensure proper representation for all members.
Before joining BART, I was a certified Refinery and Oil Field Mechanic in a right-to-work state: I experienced first-hand the challenges of working in a non-union environment.
In 2016, I joined BART and became involved with the Union after witnessing management disregard our voices and their anti-Union practices. I completed various Advanced Shop Steward trainings and workshops with our Local and International Union.
In my (9) years as Chief Steward and Area Steward, I’ve filed numerous grievances that recovered thousands of hours in lost wages, I’ve gotten disciplines rescinded, and held management accountable for contract violations.
I serve on (4) Contractual Union-Management Safety committees. As chair of the Ergonomic Committee, I’ve worked to improve tools, PPE, and work practices. I’m active in the Contra Costa COPE and engage in political actions that benefit our members.
I’ve represented members during investigations, hearings, and disciplinary meetings, always standing up to management. You can count on me when you need the Union the most
